What are lab-grown diamonds?

What is the difference between VK lab grown diamonds and a mined diamond?
VK lab grown diamonds are grown in a controlled laboratory over a period of time, while mined diamonds formed deep within the earth's mantle millions of years ago. The chemical, physical and optical properties are the same without impacting ecosystems.
How are lab grown diamonds created?
VK lab grown diamonds all grow from a diamond seed, and as heat and pressure are applied through High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), the seed grows to form a man-made diamond crystal, which can then be cut and polished into a finished gem.
How does the hardness of a VK lab grown diamond compare to that of a mined diamond?
Both VK lab grown diamonds and mined diamonds top the Mohs hardness scale at a 10, making them the hardest mineral found on earth. Moissanite comes in at an impressive 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale. All are hard to scratch and damage, which make them excellent stones for fine jewelry.
